Terraces in Barcelona

There is exactly no point for sitting INSIDE a bar when in Barcelona. Okay.. sometimes it is just getting too warm outside, that we actually do prefer spending a bit of time in an air conditiones surrounding. But in general, what is a better place for enjoying the fantastic weather in Barcelona than on the terraces - located in the charming streets and on the beautiful square.
To give you some recommendations, we checked out the best terraces in Barcelona... here you go:
bliss_terrace_sant_justBLISS (Plaça Sant Just, 4)The Bliss is one of the best terraces in the district of Ciutat Vella, which is the old town of Barcelona. It is located just a few steps from Plaza Sant Jaume, and has the Sant Just church right next to it. It is  a perfect place to have a little break from all the sightseeing and to relax a bit with a coffee or coke.
LA VINYA (Plaza Santa Maria, 5)
This bar has a small terrace in front of the
Santa Maria del Mar Church and provides a a good selection of wine, drinks and tapas.
RA (Plaza de la Gardunya, behind the Boquería market)
The Ra is a bit more of an ‘alternative’ terrace. You will find here people traveling Europe by bicylcle, conversations about globalisation and its dangers and apart from that you might get a free little bongo concert from the people sitting at the next table.
Plaza-Virreina-in-GraciaHORIGINAL (Ferlandia, 29)
Horiginal is located in front of the
MACBA. It is a very creative place and organises poetry recitals every Wednesday.

A german experience - a beergarden in Barcelona

It is fair enough, that you are looking for some other kind of food after a couple of days filled with Paella, Tapas and Co. Have you ever been to Germany? I know, it's kind of a weird question, but if you want to have a different food experience for one day in Barcelona, you should go on reading ;)

The Germans are known for their excellent food and if you don't have Germany as a destination on your trip on the list, you get the chance to try their delicous dishes in Barcelona :)
Here you can find a German "Biergarten", which is like an outdoor bar/restaurant like a terrace with benches, beer, traditional white-blue Bavarian decoration, German dishes and the typical bavarian clothes like Dirndl and Lederhosen.

Here they serve everything you need to get an impression of the German specialities (from Bavaria - they are not eating this food all over Germany - which is a pity actually ;)) You get here this delicious German Erdinger beer, Obatzda which is a Bavarian cheese delicacy made of aged Camembert, Romadur cheese, butter and spices this interesting German bread called pretzel, a selection of sausages like Weisswurst and Rosenheimer Bratwurst and as well the famous pork hock and.. goes without saying.. the popular German Schnitzel (white veal escalope).

All these dishes are served with chucrut, which is "Sauerkraut" in German and potato salad and the "to die for" mustard - a sweet one and a normal one. You also should't miss trying the apple strudel as a dessert there.

The prices for a dish are between 8 and 16 €, an Erdinger beer (0,5l) is 6 €.

The beergarden is open from Monday to Sunday from 13:00 until midnight. If you are searching for more information about Barcelona, feel free to check out my other blogs for info about events in Barcelona and the best apartments in Barcelona.
